A Complete Workplace Cycling Programme

Australia's CBDs are investing heavily in End-of-Trip facilities — secure bike cages, showers, lockers, and pump stations. But none of that investment converts commuters if their bikes are in poor condition. That's where we come in.

Mobile Bike Mechanics partners with HR teams, facilities managers, and property groups to deliver scheduled on-site servicing at workplace EOT facilities. We handle everything from routine tune-ups and safety checks to flat tyre repairs and gear adjustments — all without your staff leaving the building.

Regular servicing keeps commuter bikes safe, reliable, and ready to ride. It removes the single biggest barrier to cycling to work: "my bike needs a service but I don't have time." We solve that problem at the kerb.

Everything Your Team Needs, On-Site

One booking, one mechanic, everything covered. We bring the tools, parts, and expertise — your staff just bring their bikes.

Scheduled Workplace Visits
Regular fortnightly or monthly visits to your EOT facility. We work around your team's schedule — early morning, lunch, or after work. No disruption to the day.
Commuter Bike Tune-Ups
Full safety inspection, gear and brake adjustment, chain lubrication, tyre pressure check, and bolt torque. We make sure every bike leaving the rack is safe to ride.
Flat Tyre Repairs
On-the-spot tube replacement, tubeless puncture repair, tyre inspection, and rim tape checks. We carry Presta and Schrader valves for all bike types.
Fleet & Pool Bike Servicing
We service corporate pool bikes, cargo bikes, and shared fleets. Bulk servicing packages available with priority scheduling and dedicated mechanic allocation.
Ride2Work Day Support
Event-day mechanic station for Ride2Work Day, cycling challenges, and active travel initiatives. We set up a pop-up workshop, run safety checks, and give away repair kits.
Safety Certification & Reporting
Written service report for every bike. If a bike is unsafe to ride, we tag it and advise the owner before they get on it. Useful for fleet records and WHS compliance.

Why Smart Organisations Encourage Cycling

Cycling to work isn't just good for the environment. The evidence on staff wellbeing, productivity, and retention is compelling — and the cost to support it is surprisingly low.

01
Better Physical Health
Cycling to work provides 150+ minutes of moderate aerobic activity per week — the exact threshold linked to reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. Staff who commute actively take fewer sick days.
02
Improved Mental Wellbeing
Active commuters report lower stress levels and higher job satisfaction compared to those who drive. The transition period between home and office — away from screens — acts as a natural decompression buffer.
03
Higher Productivity
Research from the Global Corporate Challenge found active commuters are up to 15% more productive than their sedentary counterparts. Physical activity before the workday primes cognitive function and focus.
04
Reduced Car Parking Pressure
Every staff member who cycles is one fewer car requiring a parking spot. For CBD offices where parking costs $4,000–$8,000 per bay per year, shifting even 10% of commuters to bikes makes a material difference to occupancy costs.
05
Sustainability & ESG Goals
Active commuting directly reduces your organisation's scope 3 emissions. Supporting cycling infrastructure and services is an easily reportable, quantifiable contribution to sustainability frameworks including GRI and TCFD.
06
Talent Attraction & Retention
For Gen Z and Millennial workers, workplace culture and values are primary employment factors. An active travel programme — especially one that includes on-site bike servicing — signals genuine investment in staff wellbeing.

Government Programmes & Employer Incentives

There's real money on the table for organisations that support cycling to work. These programmes make the business case even easier to make.

Federal
E-Bike FBT Exemption
Since April 2022, eligible electric bikes provided through a novated lease or employer scheme are exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax. Staff can salary-sacrifice a quality e-bike and save thousands in tax — making the ride-to-work decision much easier. Mobile Bike Mechanics can service employer e-bike fleets as part of a corporate programme.

Annual Event
Ride2Work Day
Australia's national day for cycling to work — held every October. Thousands of workplaces participate by registering as a "Breakfast Site" or corporate supporter. Mobile Bike Mechanics provides mechanic support for Ride2Work Day events, including on-site safety checks, minor repairs, and promotional activity for your HR or facilities team.

State Programs
Active Travel Grants & EOT Subsidies
Several state and territory governments offer grants for workplace cycling infrastructure — including EOT facility upgrades (bike cages, showers, lockers) and active travel coordination. VIC, NSW, QLD and WA all have active programmes. Ask your facilities manager or contact your state government's transport department for current eligibility.

How Workplace Servicing Works

Simple to set up, zero hassle to run. Here's what the process looks like from initial enquiry to your first on-site visit.

Corporate fleet bike servicing
1
Enquire & Tailor
Get in touch and tell us about your team — how many cyclists, what kind of bikes, your EOT facility setup, and how often you'd like visits. We'll put together a package that suits your organisation and budget, with no lock-in contract required.

2
Schedule & Set Up
We coordinate with your facilities team to identify the best time and location for visits — usually at the EOT bike cage or building foyer. Your staff register their bikes using a simple online form, and we prep their service in advance. No queuing, no confusion.

We Arrive, Bikes Get Serviced
Our mechanic arrives at the agreed time, services each registered bike on-site, and sends each owner a written service report. Same-day turnaround on most services. Bikes are ready for the ride home. Your staff don't need to be present — they just collect their bike at the end of the day.

Transparent, Flexible Pricing

Corporate servicing is priced per bike, with volume discounts for larger teams. There are no call-out fees, no lock-in contracts, and no surprise charges — just clear pricing agreed upfront.

Minimum booking: 5 bikes per visit. Ideal for teams of 10–200+ regular cyclists. We'll tailor a programme to match your cycling participation rate, not your total headcount.

All pricing is GST-inclusive. Invoices are raised after each visit and can be consolidated monthly for ease of accounts processing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do staff need to be present when their bike is serviced?
+
No — staff simply register their bike before the visit and leave it in the EOT facility or agreed location. The mechanic services it during the day and the owner receives a written report by email. They collect the bike when they're ready to ride home.
What types of bikes do you service?
+
We service all commuter and urban bikes — road bikes, hybrid bikes, e-bikes, cargo bikes, and everything in between. We carry parts to suit most common tube sizes, brake types (rim and disc), and drivetrain systems (Shimano, SRAM, Campagnolo). For unusual or specialist components, we'll advise the owner in advance.
How often should workplace visits be scheduled?
+
For most organisations, a fortnightly or monthly visit is sufficient to keep commuter bikes in good condition. Teams with higher cycling participation, or those running corporate e-bike fleets, often benefit from weekly visits. We'll recommend a frequency based on your team size and usage patterns.
What is the minimum team size to get started?
+
We have a minimum of 5 bikes per visit. There's no minimum team headcount — what matters is that enough people are already cycling, or are interested in starting. We've run programmes for boutique businesses of 20 staff and large corporates with 500+ employees. The format adapts to your situation.
Is there a contract or lock-in commitment?
+
No lock-in contracts. We run on a rolling arrangement — give us two weeks' notice if you want to pause or cancel. Most clients stay because the service genuinely supports their team, not because they're obligated to. We're confident enough in the programme to offer it on those terms.
Can you help us set up or improve our EOT facilities?
+
While our core service is bike maintenance, we're happy to advise on EOT facility best practice — bike storage layout, recommended pump stations, signage, and cyclist onboarding materials. We've worked with enough workplaces to know what makes EOT facilities actually get used. Ask us when you enquire and we'll share what we know.
