Common questions

eBike Servicing FAQs

Why is eBike servicing more expensive than regular bike servicing?
eBikes contain proprietary electrical systems — motors, batteries, and firmware — that require brand-specific training, diagnostic software, and tools. Servicing them correctly takes more time and specialist knowledge than a standard bicycle. Our certifications (Bosch, Shimano, Yamaha, SRAM) are the proof that our mechanics have completed the required training.
Do you service all eBike brands?
+
We service all major eBike drive systems including Bosch (all generations), Shimano Steps (E6000, E7000, E8000, EP8, EP6), Yamaha PW-series, and SRAM AXS. For less common systems, contact us before booking and we'll confirm compatibility.
What does a firmware update involve?
+
Your mechanic connects the motor and display to the relevant diagnostic software (Bosch eBike Flow, Shimano E-tube, etc.) and checks for available firmware updates. Updates can improve motor performance, battery efficiency, and fix known issues. This is included from the Wash & Tune tier upward.
My battery range has dropped — can you help?
+
Yes. Range degradation can be caused by battery wear, incorrect settings, or electrical connection issues. Your mechanic will run diagnostics to identify the cause. If the battery itself needs replacement, we can quote and source the correct one for your system.
Does my eBike warranty cover mobile servicing?
+
Most eBike warranties require servicing by a certified technician — which our mechanics are. We recommend keeping records of your service history. If you're unsure about your specific warranty terms, contact your retailer before booking.
How often should I service my eBike?
+
Most manufacturers recommend a service every 50–100 hours of use, or annually at minimum — whichever comes first. For daily commuters this typically means a Wash & Tune every 6 months and a Major Service or Annual Service once per year.
